Clean hardback tightly bound in red boards with mounted picture and green titles and decoration, worn at spine ends and board edges, front board pulled and has old tape repairs, front endpaper missing, page edges foxed, remains of scribble on the half title page and 2 stickers on front pastedown. 160 pages, frontispiece and 2 colour illustrations on plates, illustrations in the text, some coloured in, by Christian M. Ade and L. R. Brightwell. No date but assume mid 1920s.

PREVIOUS OWNERS DETAILS PENCILED ON INSIDE FRONT COVER. THE PAGES DO HAVE SOME FOXING AND A COUPLE OF THE ILLUSTRATED PAGES ARE LOOSE HOWEVER ARE GENERALLY CLEAN & CREASE FREE. THIS IS A NICE COPY OF AN INTERESTING BOOK.

Undated but c. 1922. 8vo., red clothbound hardback gilt, with gilt decorations to spine and upper cover; 259pp, with 4 colour plates plus 21 b/w text illustrations and pictorial endpapers by Charles Robinson. No previous ownership inscriptions or annotation. Light tanning and foxing to edges and endpapers, occasional light foxing throughout, both front and rear endpapers have some splits at the hinges, fading to boards, (spine very faded) light wear to outer corners and spine ends. Good copy overall.
