Salter, a prominent figure in British Victorian Geology, he collected and described many important fossils, an…d is especially known for his study of the trilobite fauna. the catalogue is a large folio format measuring over 12 inches tall, this copy being handsomely bound in a quarter leather binding with a custom made slipcase, the book runs to 204 pages, the catalogue entries often include a small drawing of the fossil with a brief description, formation and locality information as to where each specimen was found, includes trilobites, Echinoderms, Brachiopods, Graptolites, Corals, Bryozoan, etc, the leather spine is sunned, with sunning spot to upper board at the point where the finger recess is in the slipcase which allows easy removal of the book, some mild marking to covers else the binding is in good solid condition. Internally some noticeable foxing to a few pages, else contents generally nice and clean A NICE EXAMPLE OF THIS IMPORTANT VICTORIAN FOSSIL CATALOGUE, this is a large heavy book, overseas shipping costs will be higher than the basic standard quote.
