An authority on music, Mr. La Prade came up with this most ingenious way of setting forth a great deal of information on the subjects of both music and orchestras. Alice, a little girl closely related to that other famous Alice, finds herself in the kingdom of Orchestralia, where she is heartily received by different instruments like kindly old Bass Viol.

Entertaining story: another Alice (a distant cousin of the 'real' one) visits another fairy wonderland to learn about the symphony orchestra with humanised musical instruments. First published in the U.S.A. in 1925, this UK first is uncommon. See Lovett 1103 but this entry does not mention our edition, only the U.K. reissue under the title Alice in Orchestra Land published 1934 with illustrations by Malcolm Easton.
