In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: very good. Later printing. Hardcover in pale blue cloth stamped in black. Near fine, tight copy, touch of fade to the top and bottom edges of the cloth. In the original dust jacket, very good, slight fade to the front panel and spine and a touch of fingering. An authori…ty on music, Mr. La Prade came up with this most ingenious way of setting forth a great deal of information on the subjects of both music and orchestras. Alice, a little girl closely related to that other famous Alice, finds herself in the kingdom of Orchestralia, where she is heartily received by different instruments like kindly old Bass Viol.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Alice in Orchestralia' is a charming and imaginative introduction to the world of symphonic music, designed to guide young readers through the complexities of the modern orchestra. Following the young protagonist Alice, who finds herself transported to the magical land of Orchestralia, the b…ook personifies musical instruments to explain their unique sounds, roles, and histories. Through her encounters with the residents of String-town, Brass-town, and the Woodwind family, Alice learns about the anatomy of a symphony and the art of musical arrangement.Written by Ernest la Prade, this work blends whimsical fiction with educational insight, making the study of music theory and instrumentation accessible and engaging. The narrative structure serves as an effective tool for teaching music appreciation, providing a foundational understanding of how different sections of the orchestra harmonize to create a unified performance. 'Alice in Orchestralia' remains a celebrated resource for parents and educators looking to inspire a love for classical music in children, emphasizing the value of active listening and the joy of orchestral discovery. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
