Staying with the art and art-related books I am pleased to offer a lovely book that takes a deep look at the famous Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer. Please find: Vermeer and the Delft School by Walter Liedtke with Micheil C. Plop and Axel Ruger. This very large and thick hard cover book (10 x 12 ¼ inches 640 pages) serves as the catalogue for an exhibition of the same name held in 2001 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and then at the National Gallery in London. It is richly illustrated with 526 illustrations including 225 color plates along with maps-a bibliography and index. The book is bound in black matter cloth boards with silver gilt titles on the spine and protected by a colorful pictorial dust jacket. Condition: This book is in near fine condition. The dust jacket is bright and glossy and without blemish or bruise. The hard covers are clean and bright with a slight bump to the lower corner. Inside the book is unmarked except for an embossed personal library logo of the former owner hard to notice. The interior pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
