The collection was auctioned by Sotheby's in 1975-76 (Stiftung für Botanik) but only 863 items were so dispersed. This Plesch catalogue contains many more items and descriptions. Many of the extremely rare books were bought by Robert de Belder, whose collection was also auctioned by Sotheby's in 1987.
