Alfred Naquet, né à Carpentras le 6 octobre 1834 et mort à Paris le 10 novembre 1916, est un médecin, chimiste et homme politique français, promoteur du divorce judiciaire et farouche partisan de la séparation de l'Église et de l'État. La Farce de la Marmite, pièce traduite par Tailhade, fut représentée pour la première fois sur le Théâtre National de l'Odéon, le 27 janvier 1907. Bon état intérieur, édition originale.

Conserva l'acetato protettivo in eccellenti condizioni. La preziosa traduzione di Pasolini, a tutt'oggi in commercio, costituisce un incrocio unico di poesia in romanesco, opera teatrale e recupero di un classico latino nel Novecento. -- «Pier Paolo Pasolini tradusse il "Miles gloriosus" nel 1963, in tre settimane, su richiesta di Vittorio Gassman che aveva progettato di portare in scena il testo di Plauto. L'allestimento non venne realizzato, ma quella traduzione venne pubblicata in volume alla fine dello stesso anno, suscitando le immancabili discussioni e polemiche. Nel misurarsi con la lingua di Plauto (o meglio, nel ritrovarne l'anima e nel ridarle vita), la scelta del traduttore fu duplice. In primo luogo, l'uso del romanesco: utilizzando con sapienza "un italiano tra Belli e Molière", scrive Umberto Todini nella presentazione all'edizione "Garzanti Elefanti" del 2008, Pasolini è riuscito "a mimare la pulsione vitale, liberatoria, anti egemonica, culturale o teatrale che sia", dell'originale. Strettamente legato a questa opzione linguistica, è il richiamo all'avanspettacolo: l'unica possibilità, secondo Pasolini, per recuperare "qualcosa di vagamente analogo al teatro di Plauto, di così sanguignamente plebeo, capace di dar luogo a uno scambio altrettanto intenso, ammiccante e dialogante, tra testo e pubblico"» (si cita dal testo promozionale dell'edizione contemporanea Garzanti). in 16°, tela beige stampata in marrone; sovracoperta con elaborazione grafica virata sui toni del giallo; al risguardo testo dell'autore; pp. 151 [5], oltre a [4] carte fuori testo in carta diversa con riproduzioni fotografiche di antiche statue ispirate ai personaggi della commedia.
