The Rev Briscombe ( 1836 -1916) was born near Batley, Yorkshire. Initially a businessman in Batley he then entered the Wesley Ministry aged 24. He went onto preach in the Grimsby Circuit and subsequently in a number of Circuits in England. He was a keen astronomer and was elected Fellowof The Royal Astronomical Society, in 1906. This is a rare book, the Library Hub Discover(on-line 3/24) locates only one copy - Oxford Brookes University.…
