hardcover. Zustand: fine. Markus Pierson (illustrator). Limited. Replete with color illustrations. Small folio, spiral-bound in brown patterned cloth and matching slipcase. Published By Rumbleseat, 1998. Limited first edition -- number 144 of 400 signed copies, additionally inscribed by the author/artist: "To Diane - for always pushing against the walls of the box". A fine copy of this uncommon title, sadly lacking the hand-pulled serigraph that was issued with the book. Pierson's self-curated retrospective of his work from 1987 to 1997. Spiral bound with slipcase. Inspired by a Joni Mitchell song called "Coyote", Markus Pierson explores the motif of the coyote in paintings, drawings, mixed-media sculpture, hand-pulled serigraphs, and found object assemblage. "I want the coyotes to whisper in their ears wild, irresponsible notions about self-determination and destiny. I want them to grab people by the scruffs of their necks, to inspire them, to change their lives.".
