First edition. 8vo., endpaper, half-title/tirage, loose engraved frontispiece with tissue guard, title, [2pp.], pp-9-197, [1p.], imprint. The sewn signatures glued into the original stiff black card wrapper and pink dustjacket with titles in black on the upper portion and the spine. Two pictorial exlibris bookplates, a loosely inserted one from the Julio Santo Domingo collection and another pictorial one from an erotic collection, signed in pencil, on the front endpaper. In the publisher's black paper covered card slipcase with two sets of three holes for the grill that it once housed, French text. One of 300 copies on Lana royal pur fil, numbered C1 to C300 in pencil, printed for the series Club Noir Soleil, in the slipcase with an equivalent numbered etching, signed by Konrad Klapheck. From a complete stated run of 1,399 [actually 1,599] numbered copies with the first 99, on the same paper, integrated into a ?livre-object' with a suite of 7 signed, numbered etchings by Trovar, on ve?lin de Rives, in a ?tableau-multiple' in wood designed, numbered and signed by the same artist, coloured by Atelier Jacomet. Plus 1,200 copies on ve?lin de Lana numbered 301-1500. Paris, E?ditions de Soleil Noir, Georges Girard Mai?tre-Imprimeur, 1974. £300.00 Book, print, tissue guard, book- plates near fine, slipcase slightly rubbed on edges, lacks the chicken wire grill, with a lead seal (to keep the book captive), spine triflingly faded. (Eros au secret illustration 134, p-258 on the last page of the BnF mono- graph, the publisher's copy with grill). No copy in Houghton. Provenance: from a good collec- tion of erotica with a phallic bookplate pasted in, to Julio Mario Santo Domingo with the ?opium smoke ' variant of his book- platedesignedbyPierreLeTan. Jose? Pierre's sole erotic novel that namechecks the libertine classic ? The?re?se philosophe ', a work that was included with great admiration in the BnF's groundbreaking catalogue of their Enfer on the last page. Klapheck's print is perverse in a Picabian or maybe a Duchamp- ian way depicting a hose connected to two taps with an open nozzle. 243541.
