In den WarenkorbHardback. Zustand: Very Good Plus. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. First UK Edition. 1961. First UK edition. 192pp. Josef Pieper (1904-1997) was a German Catholic philosopher and an important figure in the resurgence of interest in the thought of Thomas Aquinas in early-to-mid 20th-century philosophy. The present work offers a survey of the many-faceted and intense intellectual life that we know as medieval philosophy, fixing its boundaries between Boethius in the 6th century and William Ockham in the 14th. The book is bound in the original purple cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with bumping to the top of the spine and bottom front corner. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with some soiling and bumping to the spine ends. The top of the spine is also nicked with some tears of about 1/2" that have been repaired on the reverse with tape. The spine, about 1" of the front spine edge and 3/4" of the top front edge of the wrapper are faded. The wrapper is in an easily removed clear plastic protective cover.
