The author…'s rare first book, a rollicking bit of railway-based melodrama of a type much beloved of the Victorians, published in the year of the London Matchgirls Strike and the reign of Jack the Ripper. Far and away the finest copy we've handled of this early Queen's Quorum title, uncommon in any condition. The binding has been recorded in a variety of cloth colours and colour variations, with no known priority. QUEENS QUORUM 13.
