Bibliography of selected literature relevant to aquatic animal quarantine and health certification in Asia. Quarantine programmes form part of a first time of defence against possible adverse effects resulting from the transboundary movement of aquatic species. Although codes of practice for the international movement of aquatic animals have been developed by various international organisations in many countries they have rarely been applied. Nevertheless they provide a starting point for designing national and regional fish health regulations as well as international agreements aimed at preventing the spread of aquatic animal pathogens. To assist the countries of Asia in formulating technical guidelines on health certification and quarantine for the responsible transboundary movement of aquatic animals FAO in collaboration with the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia Pacific (NACA) the Aquatic Animal Health Research Institute of the Thai Department of Fisheries (AAHRI) and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) conducted a workshop in January 1996 in Bangkok Thailand to review the existing knowledge on aquatic animal quarantine and health certification in Asia and to develop an agreed upon strategy for the formulation of technical guidelines. This document contains ten country papers presented at the workshop some technical background information on general principles of aquatic animal quarantine existing codes of practice the agreed upon strategy and the recommendations of the workshop. 153 pp.

Original vintage reference photograph from the 1957 film, showing actor Arthur Kennedy. Based on the 1956 novel by Grace Metalious. Gossip is pervasive in a small New England town, leading everyone to do what they can to hide their secrets and scandals until they boil over. The film tied with "The Little Foxes" (1941) for the most Academy Award nominations?but no wins. Set in the fictional New England town of Peyton Place, shot on location in Maine, New Hampshire, and New York. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with splash at top left corner.

Zustand: Sehr gut. Zustand: Sehr gut | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | 1.1 Background Moore¿s Law predicts a decrease by a factor of two in the feature size of CMOS te- nology every three years and has been valid for years. It implies a doubling of the - eration speed and a four times higher transistor count per unit of area, every three years. The combination leads to an eight times higher processing capability per unit of area. This on-going miniaturization allows the integration of complex electronic systems with millions of transistors (Very-Large-Scale-Integration) and enables the integration of el- tronic systems. An electronic system A generic picture of an integrated electronic system is shown in ?g. 1.1. The heart of the system is the signal processing core. This core supports a wide variety of functions, such as customization and programmability of multiple applications, channel coding, the de?nition of the user interface, etc. These functions are enabled by DSP, a controller CPU and various blocks of memory. In advanced ICs these blocks provide (almost) all signal processing and usually dominate in the overall power and area consumption of integrated systems. The huge data rates involved, require high-speed busses for communication between these blocks. A power-management unit fuels the system by providing the - propriate supply voltages and currents.

Tight, straight and unmarked copy, Near Fine. Social survey of British labourers (mainly in the city of Sheffield), undertaken immediately following the Great War. The Society was under the directorship (though not credited herein) of the prominent Fabian Socialist, anthroposophist and educator Arthur James Freeman (1886-1972), who also founded the Sheffield Educational Settlement (1918). Among contemporary testimonials included on the inserted advertising leaf is the following from the Daily Mail: ".One of the most interesting social studies that have been made since Charles Booth's Life and Labour in London.Anyone who agrees that 'the proper study of mankind is man' could not fail to find this fascinating." Set of 3 vintage snapshot-size keybook publicity photographs for both the 1957 and 1958 films, with punch holes at the left (or top) margin as called for. Each photograph shows a different take of actors Diane Varsi and Christine Carére sitting side-by-side in matching chairs, each reading (and showing each other) a first edition of "Peyton Place" and a first edition of Françoise Sagan's "A Certain Smile." Both films were produced and released by Twentieth Century-Fox. To our knowledge, snapshot-size reference photographs were utilized only by Twentieth Century-Fox, during a period roughly between 1940-1965, and are very scarce, particularly in the keybook format. 4 x 5 inches. All photos Near Fine or better.
