Récit de voyage accompli en partie en compagnie de Bourrit, qui comporte des descriptions intéressantes sur la vie des habitants. Page 245, on trouve cité l'ouvrage de Paccard : "Premier voyage fait à la cim…e de la plus haute montagne du continent, 1786, in-8.", livre dont, malheureusement, il n'a jamais été publié que le prospectus. "Les appréciations (plutôt flatteuses) portées sur Bourrit sont du plus grand intérêt. Enfin, Leschevin est sans doute le premier voyageur à s'être intéressé aux inscriptions portées sur les registres à la disposition des voyageurs. L'ouvrage contient une bibliographie des livres relatifs au Mont-Blanc et à la vallée de Chamonix (61 notices). Très rare et recherché." Perret 2646. Bien complet du portrait gravé de Saussure en frontispice, d'après Saint-Ours. L'étiquette au dos du volume semble avoir été renouvellée. Bon exemplaire.
