Thomas Hearne was a renowned English diarist and antiquary, remembered for his published editions of many medieval chronicles and other important historical works. With an advertisement to the front of volume one. Part of the publisher's, 'Library of Old Authors'. In full cloth binding. Externally, smart with fading to the spines and edges. Shelf wear to the edges. Bumping and chipping to the spines. Splitting to the upper extremities of the boards of volume one. The title plates are worn and darkened. Light spotting and offsetting to the paste-downs and endpapers. A bookseller's label to the front paste-down of volume one and a bookbinders label to the rear paste-down. Internally, firmly bound. Textually complete through p. 256; leaves remain strong and clean on the whole, showing only the expected faint foxing and minor edgewear of age; plates lack tissue guards, with facing leaves lightly offset.
