I have recently acquired a series of books from the Derrydale Press of Lyon, Mississippi about hunting and fishing and outdoor life. These books are extremely well-made, in quality binding…s, and have been very well cared for by their former owner. I am going to list them over the course of the next few days, together, to facilitate an interested buyer finding them among my many listings. Here is another, however, which will be difficult to fully describe because it is still contained in the shrink-wrap plastic and I am reluctant to remove it to see what is inside. This book is titled: Atlantic Salmon Fishing, by Charles Phair. This largish leather leather-bound hard cover book (8 x 10 ¾ inches, 193 pages) was published by the Derrydale Press of Lyon, Mississippi, dated 1993. As I understand it from my research, the book includes a color frontispiece and 5 other color plates, done by Ogden Pleissner and Robert Nisbet and also has b&w photos, drawings and maps. It is bound in dark green leather with gilt decorations and titles on cover and spine and includes a paste-down color cameo of fishermen in a small boat trying to land a fish. Condition: I am going to assume that this book is in near fine condition since it is still in the shrink-wrap in which it was distributed. The leather covers are clean, the gilt bright and the corners and spine tips unbumped. I note one tiny blemish on the gilt page top although it is unclear if it is something that might brush off. The book is not ex-library or a remainder. Sorry but the photos won t be much as I would prefer to allow the new owner to unwrap it.
