The first volume combines the contents of 'Peterkin's Roll' and 'Johnston's Roll' which had long been out of print - originally published by Aberdeen University Press. The second volume is newly published information. Volume I is by A. Peterkin (1660-1727) & William Johnston (1727-1898), and Volume II is by Sir Robert Drew, Lieutenant-General, Director General Army Medical Services (Roll of Officers in the Royal Army Medical Corps 1898-1960). Published by The Wellcome Historical Medical Library, London, 1968. First edition. Near fine navy blue cloth hardbacks. Some marks to edges of text block, but books bright and clean inside. All tightly bound. Substantial weight - approximately 2.8kg unpacked. Vol. I: viii + 638pp. Vol. II: xxx + 452pp. Approx Dimensions: Each volume approximately 254mm high x 195mm wide x 40-43mm deep. Zustand: Poor. HARD COVER. No jacket. Spine of cover has faded and slight shelf wear on cover. Also some paper cut outs have been stuck on first few blank pages and a signature on inside of front cover. Some pencil markings in margins but content is fine.

Zustand: Good. No jackets. Mild scuffing and knocking to boards. Light ageing to pages, with minor wear/grubbiness to extremities, but content is clear and legible throughout both volumes. Prior owners sticker to both front pastedowns.
