Considered an authority on the order of precedence of noble families and information on the lesser nobility of the United Kingdom. Originally produced in 1826 by John Burke, an Irish genealogist, and updated with new editions each year from 1847. The present ownership plans to next publish an updated book-form bicentenary edition in 2026. Edited by Kenneth Peter Townend, a British genealogist and social editor who served as editor of Burke's Peerage and later as social editor of Tatler. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards with small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. A small puncture mark to the front joint. Front hinge just starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Very Good. book.
