Illustrated with delightful black and white woodblock (?) images by Robert P. Tristram Coffin at the beginning of each chapter. Green cloth with gilt letters on the front cover and the spine. Just hints of wear to extremities, two corners very lightly bumped, cloth clean and bright, gilt bright, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Dust jacket lightly faded and with a few small chips missing here and there. Robert P. Tristram Coffin [1892-1955] was George Elliston Professor of Poetry in the University of Cincinnati. According to the dust jacket, Coffin would probably consider himself to be a Maine man and a poet. In this book he writes about poetry, but also about rural country life. Two chapters deal with his own homeland: The New England Green and Green Maine.
