In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Fine. Peter Barker-Mill (illustrator). Limited Edition. With 13 colour engravings by Peter Barker-Mill. Limited edition, copy 449 of 500 on hand-made paper in Pastonchi type. 4to. [258 x 198 x 9 mm]. [2]ff, 35, [6] pp. Original half bound orange buckram with illustrated hand-made paper over boards, the spine lettered in gilt, plain endleaves, fore edge uncut. Free from any inscriptions, clean throughout, a fine copy. 'Topiary might strike one as a rather down to earth subject, but in fact it is here treated in a most diverting fashion, tracing the art throughout the ages since Adam was put into the Garden of Eden 'to dress and to keep it'. Peter Barker Mill decided to create a series of pairs of facing blocks, each pair to be in a different combination of colours, some that in the old days no-one would have dreamed of putting together. He took great delight in showing how they could be combined to get the most attractive and apposite effects.' (Cock-a-Hoop pp.33).
