Approximately 130 page personal work notebook from 1972 and 1973, including notes taken from speeches and political and production issues and discussions. Paper very lightly browned with minor water stain on edges of last leaves, paper wrapper worn and lower wrapper a little stained, spine chipped. Very legible text in blue and black ink. Includes an inserted handwritten note requesting leave. 19.1 x 13cm. Text in simplified Chinese characters. This notebook includes personal information on families and individuals listed, giving a perspective of problems that cadres were expected to deal with, e.g. in relation to family planning, a list of people with many children, people thinking of leaving the factory, people who have more to eat and are better off, etc. …
