Hayes Agnew, immortalized in Thomas Eakins' celebrated painting *The Agnew Clinic*; William Pepper, influential Provost of the University of Pennsylvania and one of the leading figures in American medical education; James Tyson, prominent authority in internal medicine and pathology; Horatio C. Wood, pioneering neurologist and pharmacologist; Theophilus G.
