Emigree au Canada, une existence differente s'ouvre devant elle, lui permettant de rattraper le temps perdu pendant les annees sombres et de satisfaire son envie de gouter a tout ce qu'une vie peut offrir. De retour en Europe, un curieux mariage, qui se termine tragiquement, apporte une nouvelle piece a cet assemblage dont le ciment est l'indefectible optimisme et la force de caractere de l'auteur. L'anticonformisme, c'est peut-etre l'autre notion qui pointe a la surface de ce texte. Un terme qui peut etre synonyme de marge et, en cela, ayant grandi dans une seconde partie de XXe siecle troublee, A. Pellier-Galdi a connu l'effroi, la mise au ban, le rejet. Mais il y a aussi un anticonformisme que l'on choisit et que l'on revendique. et celui-la transparait aussi dans ce recit de vie qui dresse en creux, entre Est et Ouest, un autoportrait saisissant de modernite, d'audace et d'independance. Un texte en forme de bilan certainement, mais mene avec serenite et sincerite - parfois avec une douce melancolie.
