All of the pages are intact and the cover is intact and the spine may show signs of wear. The book may have minor markings which are not specifically mentioned. Apparent author inscription to the title page. "This is a book about gays and gayness in the Anglican Church of Canada. . Gay men and lesbians have a dispute with the churches, their institutional structures and their leaders. The gay point of view in that controversy has not been made widely available to the heterosexual majority in the Anglican Church of Canada. Much of it therefore, will be a surprise to those who read the following pages. By and large, the gays who are represented in this book love the church and remain loyal to it. At the same time they have a pointed and critical commentary to make on the religious community that nurtured them." Two relevant issues of "The Integrator" newsletter laid in. Tidy spiral bound volume. Scarce.

Single sheet (18 x 23 2/8 inches). French frigate "L'Atlantique", but possibly the "Atalante", departing the port of Marseille in quite rough seas. Signed lower right "Hre. Pellegrin Marseille, 1848", titled beneath the image, the ship shown broadside and flying the French flag and three other penants. Watercolor and pen and ink on paper, framed (a bit toned). Provenance: artist's printed paper label on the verso. Possibly the "Atalante", a second class Frigate launched in 1825 at Lorient decommissioned in December of 1850. 1825-1850 was a time of relative peace for the French Navy. France had lost most of its colonial outposts in the Americas at the end of the 18th-century, and only annexed Algeria in 1830, the same year that the Greek Revolutionary War, which had been affecting the eastern Mediterranean, was won by the Greeks. Catalogued by Kate Hunter. Signed by Author(s).
