Wraps. Zustand: Good. First Edition. First Edition. [2], iv, vii + various "sections" with different pagination. 10 x 12 inches. Printed wrappers. Covers worn and creased, especially at corners. A well used catalogue. Several "sections" with different page widths. Highly illustrated. Wraps. A wonderful catalog of brassware. Over 50 "sections" each with differing page counts (most often 3-5 pages). The catalog notes that prices quoted are for polished bright, dull, or special old color (S.O.C. - meaning antique finish). A typed notice affixed to the inside front cover notes that "The prices in this catalogue are list subject to a discount of 40% from stock and 40/10% on import." and follows it up with a more detailed discussion of finishes and delivery times from England. The index also notes "plussage" for oxidized silver, nicola, brassola, copper, pewter or Verde green. From the front notice it appears that the company (Skinner-Hill) only stocks the S.O.C. or antique finish but can order from England (or I presume polish and re-finish for other finishes in house). There are stamps, inserts, pasted in paper, and other artifacts indicating necessary re-pricing either at the time of the catalog's issuance, or more likely during it's use. The catalog has remarkable depth from fireplace accessories to cork openers, toasting forks (with stamped note indicating a price advance is necessary), door knockers, bookends, table bells, ash trays, caddy spoons, paper knives, book markers, ink stands, tobacco boxes, letter boxes, engraved sundials, candlesticks, electric wall brackets, brass electroliers, lamps, brackets, toilet sets, jardiniers, hat coat and tie racks, etc etc. Uncommon, with a half-dozen copies in OCLC/Worldcat of this catalog as of this writing.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Hardcover. 4to. Pearson-Page Co, Ltd. Birmingham, UK. 1920. 74 pgs. Bound in cloth boards and illustrated paper covered boards with titles present to the front board. Boards have shelf-wear present to the extremities (light soiling and wear present to the edges). No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. During the 1920s and 30s, the biggest source in the UK of reproduction copper and brassware was the Pearson Page factory in Sherlock Street, Birmingham. Their products were very popular with customers wanting continued supplies of traditional Victorian and Edwardian designs rather than new ones. The goods were well made reproductions, albeit with the sheet work being made of fairly thin copper and brass. Items such as cast doorknockers were definitely intended for regular use and most other products were suitable for their original purpose as well as being decorative. Items were not branded by the manufacturer since they were sold through a variety of outlets including leading department stores. This can now lead to difficulty dating items that were good reproductions of Victorian originals. EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
