Las lexías de procedencia lexicográfica se han combinado con las extraídas de los dos mayores estudios de campo realizados sobre las hablas de la región, que son el Atlas lingüístico y etnográfico de Cantabria (ALECant) y el Léxico de los marineros peninsulares (LMP). De esta manera, se ha conformado un corpus de 10 838 artículos ?procedentes de 300 años de recopilación lexicográfica y de los estudios de campo realizados a finales del siglo XX? cuya finalidad es mostrar un panorama general de la principal característica del vernáculo cántabro: su inmensa riqueza léxica. This work brings together the entire lexicon of Cantabria collected in the dialectal monographs that appeared from the end of the 19th century to the present, as well as the one consigned by the hidden glossaries in the Cantabrian customs stories, in local vocabularies and in specialized vocabularies.
