In den WarenkorbFIRST EDITION, 1343/5,000 COPIES with silver facsimile signatures of Harold and Paul Smith, 90 photographic illustrations (45 black-and-white, 45 colour), signature panels with a few faint marks, pp. 96, 10.5 x 15cm, two sections in fold-out binding, covers with photographic illustrations, a few production glue marks, very good. Inscribed by Paul Smith on the cover of his section, to the author and bibliophile John Baxter. An intriguing edition, highlighting the photographic talent of the renowned British designer's father, a keen amateur photographer and co-founder of the Beeston Camera Club, and the parallels between the father and son's vision of the world, as evinced through their photographs. '[My father] thought about composition, light, witty juxtapositions, experiment not only taking photographs but also developing and printing all his own work in his home-made attic darkroom. In contrast, my snaps with an instant camera are about observation, humour and the "caught moment". Very different from my father's photographs, but, oddly, strongly similar. What a pair!'
