Patterson, 1799-1879, a prominent Whig, was a member of the New York State Assembly serving from 1832-1833 and 1835-1840. He was elected lieutenant governor of New York in 1848. He also served one term in Congress, 1877 to 1879. Charles A. Mann, 1803-1860, a Democrat, was a member of the New York State Assembly in 1840. He was a member of the New York State Senate in 1850 and 1851 and was among the 12 state senators who resigned on April 17, 1851 to prevent a quorum in the Senate.…
