In den WarenkorbOriginal Wraps. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket, as Issued. First Edition. Penguin Books D-103. First printing of the true first edition, published in 1967 as a paperback original. Cover design by Alan Spain. ***A very good copy in colour-illustrated card covers. The covers have some light wear commensurate with age and handling,…but are generally clean. The edges of the covers are slightly rubbed and creased, and there is some surface loss at the top of the spine and top corner tip of the front cover. The spine is still flat, with just a slight lean from reading. There are no reading creases to the spine. Spine tight. No tears or bumps. Page block edges clean - just lightly tanned as usual. Spine colour slightly faded. Internally also very good, with a previous owner's name in ink at the top of the half-title page. No other annotations. No creases or tears. Inner covers browned at the edges. Internal pages clean - paper stock tanned as usual. ***126 pages plus two pages of publisher's adverts at the back of the book. 180mm x 110mm. ***'Penguin Modern Poets is an attempt to introduce contemporary poetry to the general reader by publishing representative work by each of three modern poets in a single volume. In each case the selection has been made to illustrated the poet's characteristics in style and form. The nine previous volumes are available and further volumes are in preparation.' (Quote taken from the back cover). The series eventually ran to 27 volumes, published between 1962 and 1979. ***'The Liverpool Poets are a number of influential 1960s poets from Liverpool, England, influenced by 1950s Beat poetry. They were involved in the 1960s Liverpool scene that gave rise to The Beatles. Their work is characterised by its directness of expression, simplicity of language, suitability for live performance and concern for contemporary subjects and references. There is often humour, but the full range of human experience and emotion is addressed. "The kids didn't see this poetry with a capital 'p', they understood it as modern entertainment, as part of the pop-movement."' (Roger McGough) (Wiki) ***A first printing of the true first edition, in the original card covers, in very good condition. One of the most popular titles in the Penguin Modern Poets series, covering the Liverpool Poets - the Mersey Sound - and uncommon now in first printing. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc. Cover design by Alan Spain (illustrator).

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - This volume provides the reader with an up-to-date overview of the emerging debates over the role of language rights and linguistic diversity within political theory. It brings together many of the leading political theorists who work in the field, together with some of the most important social sci…entists, with the aim of exploring how political theorists can conceptualize issues of language rights and contribute to public debates on language policy. The thirteen essays in this volume highlight both the empirical constraints and normative complexities of language policy, and identify the important challenges and opportunities that linguistic diversity raises for contemporary political theory.

Stapled card covers over 15 leaves, printed rectos only: a one-page introduction, 13 poet bios, each with an illustrated portrait, and an order form addressed to Jan Falkiner, secretary. Modest wear and front cover a bit sunned, very good or better.…A large and interesting advertisement for a poets' collective brought together to facilitate readings; they make it clear in the introduction that they are "not a school of poets, nor a union, nor a guild. Although most of us have worked together in concerts [sic], we are not a clique." The poets are Pete Brown, Spike Hawkins, Adrian Henri, Anselm Hollo, Mike Horovitz, Libby Houston, Alan Jackson, Roger McGough, Ted Milton, Adrian Mitchell, Jeff Nuttall, Brian Patten, and Tom Pickard. A very small imprint inside the lower wrap reads "An F.[? letter is rubbed] Norman Cox Production." Interesting and uncommon.

In den WarenkorbVintage bound production budget and two cost reports for the 1969 Western film. This grouping of documentation does NOT include the film's script. Based on the 1968 novel by Lewis B. Patten. An old-fashioned lawman is fired after killing a man in self-defense but refuses to resign, resulting in violence on both sides. Actor Rich…ard Widmark was dissatisfied with the film's original director, Robert Totten, and arranged to have him replaced by Don Siegel. Each director felt that the film did not represent his creative vision, and the resultant dispute over the directorial credit led the Directors Guild of America to create the pseudonym Alan Smithee. Set in the fictional Cottonwood Springs, shot on location in California and Arizona. Tall green Universal Pictures leatherette wrappers, dated June 26, 1968, noted as production No. 2022, with credits for Totten, actors Richard Widmark and Lena Horne, and producer Richard Lyons. Approximately 50 leaves. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Near Fine, bound internally with three silver screw brads. Pitts 1015.
