In den WarenkorbFirst edition, signed by the author on the title page, of this entertaining exposé of financial malpractice. 1932 marked the year that the Pecora Commission was established by the US Senate to investigate the causes of the Wall Street crash. Parker's opinions are clear: he writes that "the first prominent resident of [Wall] Stre…et was Captain Kidd, the pirate. He lived too soon, and was hanged. Had he been alive in more recent times, he doubtless would have graced the chairs of many a board of directors" (pp. 1-2). Octavo. Half-tone photographic frontispiece. Original red cloth, spine and front cover lettered and decorated in gilt. With dust jacket. Light bumping, cloth bright, minor browning to otherwise crisp contents; slight toning, chipping, and creasing to unclipped jacket, loss to upper margin of spine and front panel, affecting text but sense recoverable: a very good copy indeed in very good jacket.
