This article is the first original contribution to the Nepal Research Centre's new series of Miscellaneous Papers the first twelve numbers being off prints form the journal of the NRC. The reason for an early publication of the present article is obvious. it carries considerable current interest as it presents to the interested public the two earliest copper plate inscriptions found in Nepal so far. Although there must exist copper plate grants even from Lichchavi times none has been brought to light so far no doubt because of the lack of excavations in the Kathmandu Valley where only some trial diggings have been done. 32 pp.
