Anantavarman Codagangadeva (1078 bis 1152 n.Chr.), der machtige Herrscher der Späten Östlichen Gangas, dehnte sein Reich von seinem kleinen väterlichen Stammland in Kalinga im nördlichen Andhra Pradesh im Norden bis an den Fluß Hooghly (Bhagirath), einen Seitenfluß des Ganges, und im Süden bis an den Fluß Godavari (Gautamlganga) aus.
