One board corner is threadbare. The top end of the text block is black, but it is a little faded by the spine. The binder's glue has darkened part of each endpaper, mostly on the pastedown. The pages are lightly tanned. An owner's name and a date in 1935 are on the title page. DJ: The spine panel has darkened and is chipped on each end. The covers are just a little bit age-toned and warped, and the top fore edge corners of the covers are gently bumped. The pages are tanned. The matching pictorial dust jacket is in very good condition, with subtle rubbing and browning, and minor traces of soiling. The edges are lightly chipped. The largest chip is at the head of the jacket's spine. The chip measures roughly 1/4 of an inch wide by 1/4 of an inch deep. There is a small, light moisture stain on the bottom edge. Illustrated in color and black and white by Roberta Paflin. Some of the most colorful and endearing stories in musical literature, including Nutcracker Suite, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks.

The book is illustrated with both black and white and full color drawings by Paflin, showing all the objects to be counted. Offered here is an absolutely magnificent copy of one of the original twelve titles in The Little Golden Library, all of which were published simultaneously in October, 1942. The condition of the book is AS NEW. The condition of the dust wrapper is NEAR FINE. Rare in the dust wrapper and in this condition.
