Postcard. Zustand: Very Good. The Battle of Liège occurred from 5-16 August 1914, consequently, we date this card to shortly after, i.e. circa 1915. A postally unused sepia halftone postcard, measuring 5-1/2 inches tall x 3-1/2 inches wide. Card w. some soil and a misaligned, improper caption verso, minor wear to edges. Artwork signed "H. Pearse" at bottom left corner. Caption verso should properly read "Belgium Boy Scouts have shown remarkable pluck during the fighting in the trenches outside Liege, serving the soldiers with food and drink in the firing line. It can be seen that this is very dangerous work, and should be written large in the roll of daring deeds in this war of wars.".
