He became a storekeeper at the back of beyond, took a trading wagon through forgotten African kraals, learned to hunt with professional hunters, and found a secret diamonf field. His partner died, leaving him a mere boy, alone with mutinous cannibal guides, in the heart of the Congo. They left him for dead but he eventually got back to civilisation. He joined the Rhodesian Mounted Police, and rode the veldt alone, chased witch-doctor murderers and settled native quarrels. 288pp with black and white plates. Covers soiled and faded otherwise very good. Size: 220x140mm.
