Spines are uniform, but much faded. 3 of the covers are detached (but all are present). Volume 1 - Tristram Shandy. Frontispiece portrait of Sterne. 342 pages. Rear cover held on by clear tape on the inside. Front cover detached. Bookplate on inside front cover, Frederick von Kapff, partially covered with clear tape (reinforcing the hinge). Text block complete and tight. Volume 2. Tristram Shandy. 391 pages. Rear cover detached. Front cover with clear tape at the inside hinge. Volume 3. Sermons. 455 pages. Clear tape at inside hinges. Volume 4. A Sentimental Journey. Printed in 1805. 416 pages. Clear tape. Volume 5. Letters. 312 pages. Rear cover missing. Printed in 1805. The books measure 4 x 6.5 inches. Text blocks all complete and pages faded and toned but without stains or writing. Bookplates on the inside covers of all 5 volumes -- but apart from a few stray records in a book of cattle markings, I have not identified who he was. An early Harrisburgh (Harrisburg) PA imprint. I would not usually list a set in this condition, but it's an early imprint from a small press, and I wish there were more of these available from my town (Fredericksburg) so I offer these for the interest of anyone interested in their town.
