Seven subfamilies of Notodontidae are revised: Pygaerinae, Notodontinae, Cerurinae, Phalerinae, Periergosinae, Dudusinae, and Hemiceratinae. The Notodontidae included in this volume are 75 species assigned to 17 genera. The Doidae includes three species in two genera. For Notodontidae, two new genera and eight new species are proposed. Keys to the adults of all 17 genera and 75 species are included. Adults are illustrated in color, and male and female genitalia are illustrated by line drawings or photographic images. Larvae of two species of Doidae and 64 species of Nearctic Notodontidae are illustrated in color. A total of 179 notodontid species in 51 genera is recognized. Volume 1 (Miller et al. 2018) treated 74 species in 17 genera, assigned to seven subfamilies: Pygaerinae, Notodontinae, Cerurinae, Phalerinae, Periergosinae, Dudusinae, and Hemiceratinae. Here, the remaining 104 species in 34 genera, belonging to four subfamilies Heterocampinae, Nystaleinae, Dioptinae, and Dicranurinae are revised. Adults are illustrated in color, and male and female genitalia are illustrated by line drawings or photographic images. In total (Volumes 1 and 2), larvae of 155 Notodontidae are illustrated in color. More than 85 new life histories are reported, with larvae of these species being figured and diagnosed here for the first time. Included are representatives of larvae of all notodontid genera known to breed north of Mexico. Two addenda treat recent findings. The volume is approximately 443 pages of text. Included are 50 monochrome plates, 10 color plates of adults, and 18 color plates of larvae. The book will be Smythe sewn (to lie flat when open) and hardbound in cloth. [9780979663352].
