Spine with printed label. = The first part of the very rare music section of the famous 'Encyclopédie', edited, and largely written by the French opera writer, and music theorist and critic Nicolas Étienne Framery (1745-1810) and his compatriot, the historian and writer Pierre-Louis Ginguené (1748-1816). It was published over a very long period of time - the second part, not included, was published 23 years later. Therefore seldom found complete. In 1818 another, second volume was published, which is not included too. Boards an label rubbed, spine cover partly detached along front hinge; otherwise a very good copy.

A Milan, chez Paolo Emilio Giusti, 1820-21, voll. 9, in-16, legatura coeva in mezza tela, titolo a stampa su tasselli di carta applicati ai dorsi, per oltre 3500 pp. complessive. Attaccata alle sguardie posteriori dell'ultimo volume la fattura di vendita della libreria Umberto Saba, indirizzata a Carlo Cordié e datata 29 novembre 1941.
