Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Volumes 1 and 2. Hardcovers with no DJ. Black cloth over boards with black paper at corners of boards as well as along spines. Gold lettering on spines. Raised bands along spines. No date on title or copyright pages, likely an 1849 publication. Vol. 1 has 336 pages. Vol. 2 has 305 pages. Shelf wear along edges of boards. Top edge of spine of vol. 1 is worn, exposing binding underneath. Boards of both volumes are square and firmly attached to binding. Gold decoration on front boards and gold lettering on spine is shiny and legible. Very light wrinkling to cloth over boards of both volumes. Fore edges dyed blue. Previous owner signature on front attached endpapers. Small spots of toning on endpapers. Illustrations by Hablot K. Brown as frontispieces of both volumes. List of 14 illustrations located after table of contents in vol. 1, 15 illustrations in vol. 2. Pages have very minor foxing. Text and illustrations remain clear and readable.
