Intended for political educators, this handbook is a practical guide for organizing cultural and education…al events around film screenings in so-called workers' clubs. The item includes graphs with information about domestic and foreign film releases, photographs of workers in cinema clubs and period film posters. The handbook encourages the heads of the clubs to use leisure time of the workers for political discussion and education suggesting topics for discussion and promotes domestic over foreign film. Boris Filippov (1903-1991) was a prolific theater critic and theater administrator. In 1924 Filippov co-founded the popular theater magazine "Rabochii i teatr" (The Worker and Theater). He also authored "Teatr i zaprosy rabochikh mass" (The Theater and the needs of the Working Masses; 1927) as well as other popular works on Soviet theater. Advertisements to last pages.
