Bound in with the text is a brief typed letter addressed to Ilse Lahn, an agent with the Paul Kohner agency, signed by authors Allen and Dorothy Childs, and a 20 cent stamp tucked above the letter. Incomplete as issued, with an outline of further chapters in the novel bound in after the text. A group of teenage girls attend a school-sponsored cross-country road trip, unaware that the trip will crack open previously untapped wells of emotion and uncertainty in their interpersonal relationships and extracurricular activities. Set in Burbank, CA. Housed in a manila mailing envelope, lacking wrappers and a title page. 36 leaves, with last page of text numbered 33. Typescript on onionskin stock, rectos only. Pages Near Fine, partially bound with a single paper clip.

The only one dated belonged to Edith Lane, Stow on the Wold, and is dated Jan. 21st 1885, the other two have owner names, John F Sutton of Selby College Birmingham and Hugh Williams. A mixture of lessons, teacher instruction, school management, and a few mss hymns by Edith and George Lane in 3 text books measuring between 9 and 8.2 x 7.3 and 6.5 inches. There is the odd brown mark on first and last blank pages only to be expected of a book of its age. Both volumes are second edition enlarged and revised books, published by Oxford University Press in 1939, Humphrey Milford publisher to the University, Printed in Great Britain, by John Johnson printers to the University. Volume I: has 393 pages plus additional pages. Volume II : has 458 pages plus additional pages. All pages intact and nice tight bindings, all pages, text and illustrations are in good, clean, readable order. Both volumes are used, and deserve to be preserved for future generations.
