Based on the 1905 operetta by Franz Lehár, about a count from a small European kingdom who must travel to Paris to stop the kingdom's wealthiest citizen from getting married and moving away. The third of five film adaptations of Lehár's operetta. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus, with pinholes on the margins.…

Two vintage reference photographs from the 1925 film, struck from the negative circa 1950s, one showing actor Mae Murray and the other showing Murray and actor John Gilbert. Based on the 1905 Hungarian operetta, which was in turn based on the 1861 French play "The Embassy Attache." A lush romantic melodrama with touches of humor involving a European prince who falls for an American dancer. The relationship falls prey to every manner of trouble, and the never-married couple eventually reunites on location at Maxim's in Paris. A rare program for an early and restrained gem by one of the great directors of the silent era. Set and partially shot on location in Paris. One photograph 8 x 10 inches, one photograph 10 x 8 inches. One Near Fine, with faint wear to the corners, one Very Good plus, with light wear to the left edge.…

To the editor of an "Almanach des artistes", asking him to withdraw her profile from the forthcoming edition, as she was not able to communicate her corrections in time: "J'ai reçu à la campagne votre projet de me faire figurer dans votre almanach des artistes avec votre demande de corriger ce qui ne serait pas actuel. N'étant pas à Paris, j'avais chargé ma tante M.e Isabelle Degail de vous voir et de vous expliquer de vive voix ce que je désirais et de vous prier le nombre d'exemplaires de luxe [.]. Ne vous ayant pas vu, elle me dit ici, qu'elle n'a pas pu vous faire ma communion [?]. Veuillez donc pour cette année ne pas me faire figurer dans cette série [.]". - Louise Théo was on tour in Vienna when Jacques Offenbach discovered her. The master of the operetta engaged Théo at the Théâtre de la Renaissance to create the title roles in "Pomme d'api" and "La jolie parfumeuse", both in 1873. In 1883, Théo married the American art dealer Roland Knoedler and subsequently toured in America. - Some browning.…
