Vintage reference photograph from the 1927 film. Based on the 1925 play by Samson Raphaelson. The first feature film with both a synchronized recorded score and lip-synchronized singing and dialogue, effectively signaling the end of the silent era. At the first Oscars, producer Daryl F. Zanuck received an Honorary Academy Award and the film was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, though it was declared ineligible to compete for Best Picture in fairness to the nominated silent films. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with a small chip at one corner, and a small bruise at another corner. Hirschhorn, The Hollywood Musical.

Two vintage publicity photographs of actress Heather Angel, circa 1933, each with a Fox Films stamp on the verso crediting photographer Ray Jones, and one with a mimeo snipe on the verso describing Angel's outfit for the 1933 film "Charlie Chan's Greatest Case." In 1933 Angel starred in three films for Fox Films, "Charlie Chan's Greatest Case," "Berkeley Square," and "Pilgrimage." 7.75 x 9.5 inches and 7.5 x 9.75 inches. Near Fine.
