O'Connor's revised chronology was accomplished by his comparison of sculptural artifacts housed in Thai other Southeast Asian collections, as well as fragments recovered from archaeological sites, with previously known stylistic developments in the Hindu art of India. The site exhibits much evidence of iron smelting and foundry work that occurred between the 10th and 13th centuries. Artifacts recovered during the excavations include iron slag, foundry tools, objects of iron, lead and gold, pottery, rock carvings and Chinese coins (the site was also an active trading center during this period).
