The covers, with central gilt seal lgo are relatively unworn bar some sp.end rubbing & corner bumping, red cloth is clean but white cloth to sp.& adjacent region rather dusty, exacerbated by horizontal ghost of lib. sellotape, which has some thin dark edge lines, sp.lettering in gilt, with a gilt lib.numbers at bottoms. I think that just about covers everything - oh there area few brown spots to back of end-charts & possibly elsewhere. Weighs over 1.7 kg so allow for extra postage. Despite lib.marks, spine dustiness & other minor faults this remains an acceptable working/reference set of this lavishly produced work. Size: 17 Cms x 26 Cms.

Very good book in half vellum and bevelled edge brown buckram covers with bright gilt titles to front; the boards have an intricate blind stamped foliar pattern; age spotting to the vellum. Internally very good and free of inscriptions; one a LIMITED EDITION of 150 copies and this is numbered 105; SIGNED BY WILLIAM F CARTER the CO-AUTHOR on the limitation page; very well illustrated within the text and with full page plates; text in the Dugdale reprint in double columns; binding tight; some spotting to feps but not elsewhere; top edges gilt , the others semi-trimmed. A very sound copy. Signed By the Co-Author.

Cloth. Zustand: Good. Marbled boards with cloth spine. 512 pp. This edition actually uses the 1831 edition's sheets, adding a new title page from 1862. Original title page also present. Single volume edition reprinting in its entirety an early history of the state of New Hampshire spanning it's exploration and settling by white men in the 1620s, up to 1790. This includes the obligatory look at various wars and skirmishes, including the Revolutionary War, as well as notable people, early settlements, etc. GOOD+ condition. Presumably a rebind of some sort. Minor fading, scuffing and edgewear. Interior with minor toning. Small area of dampstaining to the lower margin of the first several pages. Many pages unopened along their top edges.

Small 8vo; white cloth over paper covered boards; 111 pages; complete with four black and white photographic images; a bit of soiling to the spine; some scattered foxing; fragments of the original dustjacket laid in; scarce Scottish shooting book; less than eleven copies located in OCLC and no other copies in this country as of 7/17/2025. Very Good binding.

Overall an excellent opportunity to obtain a full set of this edition at a reasonable price.

Hardcover. Zustand: Good. First edition of a 19th century. Scarce first edition in original cloth binding. Leather label stamped in gilt. Faint shadow of a label on spine. No ownership marks. Intriguing, undeciphered contemporary signature at top of title page, likely an association item. Front hinge starting but sound. Endpapers and scattered pages are foxed, some heavily, else good+. "Elements of Psychology Included in a Critical Examination of Locke's Essay on the Human Understanding, with Appendix to Cousin's Examination of Locke, Notes and Additions". A 19th century classic. The ideas presented in Cousin's work were very influential in the development of American philosophy and educational thought. Specifically Cousin's method of viewing ideas either of logical or chronological terms, and his examination of Kant - were influential in the work of Asa Mahan, early president of Oberlin and author of "A System of Intellectual Philosophy", 1845 which laid the foundation of the school's approach and philosophy. He was influential in early American philosophical thought, as evidenced by the American publication and translation of this work by Caleb Sprague Henry. Henry was one of the three "Christian Transcendentalists",

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. Quarter-bound, hardback book, with each corner, bound in beautiful brown leather bound, gilt edged, tooled spine and gilt titles on the spine. Marbled paper sides, along with marbled inside, front and back boards and first and last pages, marbled edged papers. This stunning book has been beautifully bound and is in really good condition, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. Published in 1861, tissue guard paper for title page still intact. Inside board has named label with crest. 416 pages all intact and nice tight binding. The book also has a nice blue coloured, cotton, page marker. All pages, text and fabulous illustrations are in really good, clean, readable order. The odd and occasional foxing mark, hardly noticeable. A truly lovely book that would adorn any stylish library.
