Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - ''When The Highbrow Joined The Outfit'' is a novel written by Nina Wilcox Putnam and published in 1917. The story follows the adventures of a young and wealthy woman named Daphne who decides to join a group of criminals known as ''the outfit'' in order to experience a different kind of life.…Despite her initial reluctance and fear, Daphne soon becomes deeply involved in the outfit's activities, including theft, smuggling, and even murder. Along the way, she falls in love with one of the outfit's leaders, a charming and dangerous man named Tony. However, as Daphne becomes more and more deeply involved in the outfit's criminal schemes, she begins to question her own morality and the consequences of her actions. The novel explores themes of identity, morality, and the seductive power of crime, as well as the tension between the high society world that Daphne comes from and the gritty underworld of the outfit. Overall, ''When The Highbrow Joined The Outfit'' is a thrilling and thought-provoking read that offers a unique perspective on the criminal underworld of early 20th century America. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
