Deze nieuwe mierenatlas is een uitgebreide actualisering van de atlas uit 2004 (onderdeel van Nederlandse Fauna 6, Wespen en mieren van Nederland). Voor het eerst zijn ook de in Nederland voorkomende exotische mierensoorten in kaart gebracht. In totaal vermeldt deze atlas 68 inheemse soorten (waarvan negen nieuwe sinds 2004), 36 gevestigde exoten (waarvan er negen ook in het buitengebied voorkomen en 27 exclusief in gebouwen leven) en 84 incidenteel waargenomen exoten. Voor de 68 inheemse soorten wordt naast de verspreidingskaart ook een ecologisch profiel gegeven met informatie over de biologie en ecologie. This new ant atlas is an extensive update of the atlas from 2004 (part of Dutch Fauna 6, Wasps and ants of the Netherlands). For the first time, the exotic ant species occurring in the Netherlands have also been mapped. In total, this atlas lists 68 native species (9 of which are new since 2004), 36 established exotics (9 of which also occur in the outlying area and 27 live exclusively in buildings) and 84 incidentally observed exotics.
