Segue a descrição de quatro tipos de pão, uma enumeração de vegetais e frutas e seus reflexos no corpo. Por fim, um elogio ao sal, substância universal da conservação. No segundo livro trata das carnes, incluindo aves e caça. No terceiro livro são examinados os produtos do mar e dos rios.
