Erstausgabe
Softcover. Zustand: Near Fine. First edition. 12mo. [12]pp. Stapled illustrated self-wrappers. Illustrated with photographs of the Keane family and of the Keane's painting, as well as various art works. A little age-toning, else near fine. Written in 1959, but from internal evidence, issued in 1961 or early 1962. Pamphlet promoting the art of Walter and Margaret Keane, known for Margaret's big-eyed children paintings, but which Walter claimed the credit for, the pamphlet mentions a bank that will finance the purchase of their paintings, with the paintings used as collateral. Their story was the basis for the Tim Burton-directed film *Big Eyes* with Amy Adams and Christopher Waltz as the Keanes. They are credited with the relative "mass production" and wide spread distribution of art that paved the way for Warhol multiples and eventually to the likes of Thomas Kinkaid. *OCLC* locates several presumably similar promotional pamphlets on the Keanes by Nolan, but only six with this pagination (probably incorrectly dated as 1959).
