Noel Sedgwick was the editor of The Shooting Times and begin this book with material he wrote for this paper. "As Editor of this journal, and as a member of various committees allied to sport, I am naturally in a very favourable position to observe and to understand many matters which may not be altogether clear to the 'ordinary reader'.
